A better form of armour than a leather jack, this is a thick canvas jacket padded with dozens of layers of quilted cotton which, while not as effective as plate armour, is much lighter, far cheaper to make, and still very cost-effective. It is, however, a bit tiring to move in due to the padding. The arming doublet is a direct adaptation of this.
