The only child of poor Troll parents, the massive and immensely deformed Torm is a twisted mass of a man, more resembling a shambling mound of body parts and tumours than a person, but despite his hideous and hidden appearance, gigantic size and incredible physical strength he is a gentle soul with the heart of a poet and the mind of a scholar.
His exact history is deliberately kept secret by him, but he has been a resident of the sideshow at the travelling circus run by Iago Haseem longer than any other surviving "freak" aside from Madame Wek, and is considered to be their de-facto leader. He, alongside Raphael Carnalite, Little Wretch and Hellhaarigeskind des Flusses, orchestrated the mass breakout of the captive exhibits in the sideshow at the beginning of And the Freak Shall Inherit..., and acts as the patriarch to the band of misfits.
After the events of And the Freak Shall Inherit..., Torm has found himself, alongside Madame Wek, at the Refuge of the Sacred Heart just outside Síocháin, where he now resides permanently. In 3A 207 he underwent several operations to remove some of the more harmful and debilitating growths on his body and also straighten his spine. While this has left him walking with a cane and requiring his right arm to be bandaged for the foreseeable future, it has dramatically increased his quality of life, allowing him to stand upright, speak clearly and write for the first time in decades.
