General Description
The Yeti are powerfully built humanoids with bluish skin, horns, red eyes and faces that vaguely resemble those of apes but are far more emotive. Their bodies are entirely covered with long, dense fur except for the palms of their hands, the soles of their feet, and their faces; this fur can range in colour from white, through various browns, to grey and black. The males also tend to have tusks that extend from their lower jaw and over their top lip, and far more muscle mass than the females.

Language
The Yeti language is rather gruff and overly literal, but thankfully much more easily translated than many other of Oerth's languages.

Culture
Despite their terrifying appearance, the Yeti are peaceful by nature and abhor unnecessary violence. They are traditionally fishermen, farmers and winemakers, and as such these aspects permeate their culture deeply. Many sea shanties originate from Yeti shores, and the sea is venerated almost as much as the Gods. While for commercial fishing operations variations of modern Trollish fishing ships are used nowadays over the traditional method of using a canoe and spears, they have still very much made the technique their own and have continued to paint their ships in the same traditional patterns as the canoes of old. These Yeti trawlers will usually still carry some canoes and a healthy supply of harpoons with them in case they meet a Kraken or Leviathan, for hunting the sea's greatest beasts in anything but the old ways is to disrespect the sea, the beast, the crew and most importantly yourself.
The Yet's traditional weapon is the Saw Sword, however when hunting most prefer the Harpoon.

The Proving
This gruelling test of strength, endurance and skill is undertaken by many young Yeti hoping to make a name for themselves. There’re many different courses and routes for the Proving so all the participants must be prepared for whatever is thrown at them on the day of the Proving. All the participants who take part and complete the Proving become ‘Braves’ and earn the right to leave the homelands and seek adventure or fortune in the world.  Traditionally, the Proving is only done by males but more and more female participants are granted permission to compete in the Proving as time has gone on. They run alongside the males in the Proving and sometimes surpass the males, much to the amusement to the Chiefs.  While all participants become ‘Braves’ the one that completes the Proving first earn prestige and honour for themselves and their families.  These elites are often gifted a weapon by the Chief Honcho personally as a mark of their achievements. The Proving is normally exclusively undertaken by Yeti but there have been occasions where members of other races are invited to participate to beside the young Yeti, this invitation is considered a great privilege.

Heat Issues
The Yeti can have issues with heat, as their bodies, being adapted to the cold, so fire can be extremely damaging to them. Their fur is also somewhat flammable. As a result, the Yetis in the Southern Republic will shave down much of it so only that on their heads, forearms and lower legs remain to help control their body temperature in the much warmer climate.
