First time visitors to the city are struck by the long pier carved from a single block of ice, large enough for three troll merchant ships to unload end to end. Next they see the tunnel which leads into the underground city, wide enough for four trolls to pass side by side and tall enough to force a giant to stope.

The wide passage to a large open courtyard centred around a ice statue of a yeti and troll shaking hands as they hold a scroll - directly opposite the tunnel in this same square stands the Ice Palace Cathedral of Our Lady Who Rules the Sea and Sky, the mother church of the Church of Our Lady of the Sea, as to have it stand as close as humanly possible to the docks. The streets are strangely empty for those used to the busy Imperial cities and free of the Catfolk which normally menace them.

Further into the passages, the buildings grow grander, thicker walls which block out the icicle filled wind making the temperature rise closer to freezing. Several shops advertise yeti fur garments.

Then the bottom of the Palace itself comes into view, thick pillars of blue ice supporting the structure as it rises out of the underground warren of tunnels. As you approach you see fine cravings of traders at work, legionnaires marching, ships sailing and cultures mixing.

The Ice Palace main underground door is made of thick Oak imported from the home islands, bound together with Fae silver catches and dwarven steel hinges on the inside. The door rises to twice the height of an average troll.

The room is a grand hall build around large firepits within which whole trees are piled, however only the top fire pit is lit before the head table. Several servants are rushing around wrapped in capes and cloaks serving tea to weedy looking trolls and yetis boils covering their skin.

Legends

An imperial guardsman exploring abandoned parts of the city discovered Ancient Halberd of Divine Ice, prompting a number of treasure hunters to flock to the city. Many of these were quickly defeated by the freezing temperatures.
