In the southwest corner of Balla, sat on a rocky outcrop sticking out of the side of the mountain, stand the ruins of Castle Tréigthe, former seat of House Devliss and birthplace of the legendary Lugh Devliss, the Baron who was defeated by Virion I in the War of Tíran Unification. The castle itself, and the town that bore its name, was destroyed by fire in 2A 5782, and it wasn't until 2A 5974 that the Devliss family regained their Barony upon being dubbed as Barons of the newly founded Balla by Queen Luciel. The ruins are easily visible to those entering from the south or west gates of the city, and while Tréigthe is no longer even a town, let alone a castle, the Old Duchy still bears the name in honour of the historical significance of the location. The castle ruins themselves, considering their great historical significance, are a protected monument by the Imperial Heritage Committee.
