- Magri "Mag" el Sabine carries six of them on his person at most times, usually hidden on the inside of his coat. He notably has a tendency to use them in rather unorthodox ways such as throwing them at opponents like javelins, unscrewing the pommels and throwing them at targets as a distraction, and frequently using murderstrokes as a signature move. He also tends to hold his swords in an icepick grip when using them.
- Astra Yaevis used two as her go-to weapons during her time as an investigator.
- Syx owned one for the entire of her time as part of The Band of Misfits, but strangely was never seen using it despite having it on her person on most quests.
- A rusty, battered shortsword is the signature weapon of Faulkner Chulainn.
