Antimony is a lustrous, silvery-grey metalloid easily mistaken for lead at a glance. In its pure form it is brittle and unsuitable for weapons or structural work, but small quantities alter the hardness and casting behaviour of other materials.
Its most familiar use on Orth is in pewter, where it strengthens softer metals used for plates, cups, ornaments and household fittings. Alchemists also value antimony compounds, although dust and fumes from heating should be handled carefully. It is therefore traded as an alloying and laboratory material rather than forged by itself.
