Alfred

Alfred is a sentient mimic dictionary kept in the Imperial Grand Library of Mor'Koc. This magical tome has teeth and a tongue but usually disguises itself as a heavy leather-bound dictionary on a lectern. New apprentices learn their letters and incantations from him, although he is often grumpy and pedantic. Alfred contains definitions and translations of countless words and spells, and can provide guidance to novices on basic magic theory. Bel Kuko befriended Alfred during her early loops and often consulted him for spell explanations and language practice. He grumbles about being chewed on or used as a footstool, but takes pride in being the library's resident lexicon and enjoys testing young minds.
