B'rn is a mage in the Tiran Army who joins the extended party in Tale of Tir and Nox, Part II as a Subclass - Phoenix Touched Sorcerer. He assists the party in the war against Nox, and is noted for his skill in fire magic.
Background
Several centuries ago, a Troll of the Yd'th family was conceived at the exact moment that The Nameless One created The Second Sun. The resulting fluctuations in Orth's arcane field caused the boy to be born with vivid purple eyes and ability to create magical fire. These abilities have been past down to his Yd'th descendants, the latest of which is B'rn.
Following the fall of The Kingdom of Tir at the end of the Imperial Wars, the Yd'th family was amongst the many Imperial settlers encouraged to settle in the newly founded Grand Duchy of Tir, acquiring a modest holding near Réiltín. The Yd'th family have always been staunch Imperial supporters, and they saw it as their duty to join the many Trolls moving to the Sea of Green to stem the barbarity and corruption of the Old Kingdom of Tir.
B'rn, despite has cheerful happy-go-lucky manner, took this duty seriously and applied to do his citizenship in the Réiltín branch of the Troll Bridge Association. However, due to his youth, he was not always able to control his Second Sun given fire magic, causing a fire in the TBA office. Two other juniors were singed, a desk was destroyed, and worst of all a large stack of paperwork was reduced to ash. As penance, and to get him away from anything flammable, B'rn was assigned to the Tiran Army for a period of two decades, to atone for his paperwork destroying crimes. By the time of the Nox's Invasion of Orth, B'rn had served eleven of these years, rising to corporal in the mages for his skill in battle with fire magic.
Appearance
B'rn is tall and lanky for a young Troll, with the characteristic bulbous nose and large ears of his race. His most distinctive feature is his vivid purple eyes, that seem to glow when they reflect the light of the Second Sun. He is often found in Tiran Army regalia, but often compliments this with additional jewels, such as the clear diamond and amethyst he wears on rings to focus his arcane powers, as well as a long purple cloak to match his eyes. He wields a simple wooden staff, that he likes to gesture with to pretend that it is his arcane focus instead of the rings he wears.
