Travel Arcanum

The Arcanum of travel allows a mage to teleport through space using similar techniques to summoning magic. While its effect is simple, there are many factors that effect its use. The most basic one is distance. Its basic application allows the user to instantly travel short distances, with the difficulty increasing exponentially the further they try to go. It is easiest to teleport where the user can see, with more time and care required to specify a location outside line of sight. Travelling great distances requires even more care and can be unreliable without proper preparation. It is easiest to use a teleportation circle, a permanent arcane sigil specifically designed for this purpose. However, any level of familiarity with the destination can help. More complex uses involve creating portals, which make it easier to transport many things at once and teleporting targets from afar.

Some mages have even developed techniques employing certain mediums other than sigils to aid in travel. These include plants, shadows, water and even objects from the destination. Mages develop these techniques from their connection to the chosen medium, and there are countless possibilities, all dependent on what a mage feels closest to.
