Prelude
12 V., 1259 AK.
After the bloody conclusion of the first goblin revolution of 1176 AK to 1182 AK the Empire of Bogarska is weak. In the year 1175 AK it declared war on the nortern Iron barony hoping its going to be an easy victory. The Bogarian troops however were mostly conscripts and relied heavily on their numerical advantage, while Iron barony's army relied on mass artilery and light calvarly tactics. The war soon became stagnant with heavy casualties on both sides. Finally after years of futile attempts the communists in the south, led by Breda Česen revolted liberating a substantial part of southern Bogarska. Empire was forced to sign a piece treaty with the newly formed Triple union. As the war in the south concludeds the war in the north raged on. It was only untill 1201 that the Empire of Bogarska was able to starve out the Iron barony and occupy their land. The Empire was quickly stabilised by Janez Klepec who proved himself to be a better politician than a military leader. However further economic reforms proved inadequate to save Empire of bogarska from a crisis. It might be only a matter of time before it collapses entirely. In the south the Triple union faced a lot of internal turmoil as well. After the signing of the piece treaty, Breda and her council acted swiftly eliminating reactionary threats within one by one. After years of steady industrialisation and modernisation, Union's economy is finnaly grown to a point it can sustain a war. On the border with the Empire they infiltrated Emperial populice and gathered substantial support for their cause.
