Dorrin is the son of merchants: his Elven mother, Sorin, and Human father, Wren, who run a textile shop in the bustling markets of Lacrima, Sorrow's Decanter. Growing up in the city, he learned the ins and outs of the business from a young age, helping his parents manage the shop. One stormy night in his teenage years, while delivering goods to a nearby family, Dorrin was struck by lightning on his way home. The incident left a blue scar running down his right arm—and awakened in him a heightened sensitivity to the natural world around him.
In hopes of understanding these newfound abilities, his parents introduced him to an old friend, Oliver, an herbalist and druid at the Temperate Thread. Under Oliver's guidance, Dorrin honed his skills and began his training as a druid.
Years later, while visiting the market, Dorrin noticed a flyer advertising an expedition seeking new members, with promising pay. He approached his parents, asking if they could manage the shop without him for a while. His father encouraged him warmly, saying, “You’ve helped us for so long. It’s time you went and lived your life, to see new places and meet new people.”
With his parents' blessing, Dorrin set off to join the expeditionary team, eager to explore the wonders awaiting him beyond the city he’d always called home.
