Um, hello! Abbott here, reporting in from our task from Walks-Softly-Through-Lost-Places. Essentially, she tasked us with exploring the area around camp more, so as to establish roads and ease of traversal for any potential trade and contact from the nearby towns. We went off on foot with Walks-Softly-Through-Lost-Places in tow along the lakefront by the Sauna first, discovering one Harris M Skeleton (my name, not theirs), dead in the water but with a nice ring and an eye to drown a being with no lungs. We took the ring and put them out of their misery.
We went further and discovered some marshlands to the southwest, and discovered we were being watched by a being at night. Candles tells me that's called Foreshadowing. The next day, we voyaged a bit further and came across the remnants of a road, remnants of a cart, remnants of its driver, having died a few days earlier, and the non-remnants of a Kelpie, a horse-like fae that certainly killed it. We took care of it and met its much nicer friend, a kelpie named Silence. We came to an arrangement with Silence: we bring it bizarre creatures and evildoers that we end up killing for consumption, and he will guide ferries across the river and ensure their safety. Anja added specific clauses that state that "Nothing we wouldn't fight can be taken by the Kelpie".
Silence assisted us with bringing the cart back to camp, though it should be noted that a waystone of some kind appears to be preventing hostile Fae from entering our territory. We should look into that. Oh, and also, the Kelpie has an appetite for unusual things of value, not just meat. In a pinch, we can give it Occult items of personal worth (such as my Harrow deck, or Kiva's Bones (the ones she bought from Faux, not from her body, though I suppose Silence wouldn't disapprove of those either)) for consumption as well.
