I recently had the chance to visit an unexplored part of the Castle along with a few other Navigators and Kel, a woman from the Chimera Syndicate. We ended up in a fairly dark and slightly damp stone corridor, with not so much as a signpost or torch for directions. Very unwelcoming.
The mission started out as simple scouting, and the others wasted no time exploring the place. We checked in one room and found a mimic in the shape of a sword, which we left alone with a warning note. Further down the hall, we fended off a swarm of bats.
After dealing with those, we emerged into a cave covered in spider webs and glowing mushrooms. We encountered a large fey spider who was a lovely conversationalist at first, but turned extremely rude once we decided to kill her. Kel assisted in dealing with her (a bard, apparently), and then we left, leaving another note to mark another room with a creature hidden away.
Overall, the place was moderately interesting, but over-infested with monsters, clearly unmaintained, and generally unpleasant. 2 out of 5 stars.
