Tasi hatched to their parents in the town that formed around the Archaean monastery, Still Basin Temple. Situated on a hill near Still Basin Lake, the monastery was founded by the lesser sphinx who now goes by Greetings And Guidance. It’s been a long time since then, and a vibrant town has grown around the temple to serve the monks, pilgrims, and other visitors who come by.
Tasi’s parents are both temple custodians, performing duties as varied from cleaning, organizing books, and security - relatively prestigious positions in town. Tasi grew up among the monks and was often mentored by Greetings; as a child, their favorite spot was to burrow into Greetings’ mane and nap in the warm fluff.
Tasi is a little too big to do that now. They studied and joined the Archaean order, becoming a regular bookworm. They have even become a bit of a library guardian, learning some martial arts from their parents - persistent rumors of a hidden treasure attract thieves and other ne’er-do-wells (much to their disappointment, that ‘treasure’ is knowledge).
Archaea encourages learning and discovery, and The Castle abounds in both; Tasi has volunteered to go, record what they find, and share their experiences with the temple at home.
