Bhaal is the neutral evil Faerûnian quasi-deity of violence and ritualistic murder.
He, along with Bane and Myrkul, is a member of The Dead Three, who were once mortal men but conspired to steal the godhood of Jergal, the original God of the Dead. Jergal willing gave up his Portfolio, splitting it between the three man, making them gods. Bhaal's interest in power and influence ultimately stems from his sadistic nature to kill all living things rather than as a means to dominate or rule.
