"Why we no play Stones now?"
The Gorbon are a race of half giant humanoids that live in the magma caves of the Blazing Expanse. Due to living in the intense heat of the volcano, they spend their time running in the desert to forage for food or to gather water from the ocean. Despite their sub-human intelligence, similar to that of a horse or dog, they use the lava pools to cleanse the water for use.
The Fire Elves observed the speed at which the Gorbon travel the desert and trained them to be ridden. Their favourite food is the Fire Cactus Pear which Fire Elves use to entice them. Although humanoid in nature, Gorbon run on all fours to reach their top speed and have a natural hunch in their backs. Later, humanoid saddles were crafted for this purpose.
Gorbon hides are also coveted as they have been reinforced from their exposure to the volcanic heat. Gorbon leather makes for very durable clothing, armour, etc. that somehow still manages to breathe well in the arid desert conditions.
The Fire Elves taught them how to play Stones, a game where each player throws a stone. The Gorbon then go to retrieve the stones. This game serves many purposes such as for herding or directing the Gorbon. For example, if the stones are thrown into an area with many other stones, the Gorbon will spend hours looking for both the original stones thus keeping it occupied.
