Humans (Homo sapiens, meaning "thinking man" or "wise man") or modern humans are the most common and widespread species of primate, and the last surviving sentient species of the genus Homo and the planet Earth. They are great apes characterized by their hairlessness, bipedalism, and high intelligence. Humans have large brains, enabling more advanced cognitive skills that enable them to thrive and adapt in varied environments, develop highly complex tools, and form complex social structures and civilizations.
Humans are highly social, with individual humans tending to belong to a multi-layered network of cooperating, distinct, or even competing social groups – from families and peer groups to corporations, political states and even interstellar nations. As such, social interactions between humans have established a wide variety of values, social norms, languages, and traditions, each of which bolsters human society. Humans are also highly curious, with the desire to understand and influence phenomena having motivated humanity's development of science, technology, philosophy, mythology, religion, and other frameworks of knowledge.
This have over the time of human civilization caused each human to be highly individualistic, with groups of likeminded individuals forming the basis of their various factions, cultures and nations, something that have made humanity one of The Last Hands few species that have not yet unified under a single interstellar nation, and instead the multiple factions and nations of Humanity have developed their own independent interstellar nations that each control their own colonies, planets and clusters of systems. Even if their own capitals and population centres are on the same planet as their rivals.
This makes Humans a incredibly diverse species, with their views on aliens, morals and politics being different depending on the person in question. Something that have caused friction among humans and more single minded species of the cosmos.
