This transformation has sparked an economic and colonial boom, drawing interstellar powers, independent settlers, corporate interests, and opportunistic raiders into a volatile, contested arena.
For millennia, the Slus Sector have been a lawless, sparsely populated expanse, home to Coreseekers, Human and Burgrave colonists, and nomadic fleets eking out an existence beyond the reach of traditional states. However, the region’s growing importance has led to increased interference from external powers, notably the Império de Tarsis and the Gospel of K’zon, both of whom see Slus as ripe for colonization and religious expansion.
Amidst the chaos, two powerful local factions have emerged:
- The Free Systems of Slus a fragile coalition of independent colonies resisting foreign rule.
- The Hand or Slus, a militarized Coreseeker faction claiming ancient exploratory rights over the region, engaging in piracy, sabotage, and insurgency.
