What happens at your events?
At our main Monthly D&D Munches, we have a few tables that you can just sit down and start playing D&D at. You don’t need to know anything to start playing with us! We will even have specific tables dedicated to teaching people how to play!
Long term, we are also looking at having additional munches with different themes, such as a Miniatures Painting Night, and an Anything BUT D&D Game Night.
Can you be more specific about what version of D&D you are playing?
Our Monthly D&D Munches are based on Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition, 2014 version. Our table for people who have never played D&D before will be playing a simplified version of the same rule set.
What should I bring?
At our monthly D&D munch, you don’t HAVE to bring anything, we’ll have all the things needed to play available, but if you WANT to bring your own dice and character, that would be great. Other munches may have different requirements and those will be listed in the munch description.
I’ve never played D&D before, can you help me?
Sure! At many of our munches we will have a table specifically for new players! We’ll get you set up with a quick intro, a character to play, and with a Game Master who is experienced teaching new players.
What are the D&D Character Requirements?
We are playing the 2014 version of D&D 5E. If it is your first time playing this character, we ask that you use standard array for ability scores and only character options from the Player’s Handbook, since those are the only options that we can ensure that our Game Masters are familiar with.
How can I become a Game Master?
It’s super easy! Just reach out to our Admin team, and we can help arrange it! We are always looking for more Game Masters, especially those who want to run D&D!
If we are playing D&D, why are they Game Masters instead of Dungeon Masters?
Dungeon Master has a very different connotation in our community here on FetLife. Our munches are intended to be social events, not kink events. Our main goal is to make social connections with other people, anything further is between you and that person away from our munches.
What are the Benefits of being a Game Master?
Well, we’ll get you a snazzy GM shirt, buy you a beer, and if we have pizza, free pizza!
I’ve never run a game, can you help me?
Sure! As long as you are already familiar with D&D, we can supply everything that you need to run a game: an adventure, dice, and even some advice.
How do I connect with people outside of the munches or group?
You are not allowed to ask for someone’s number or socials. Our default assumption is that you provide your contact details and then the other person can reach out if they want to connect further.
What other TTRPGs do you play?
That’s a great question. Several of us LOVE things that aren’t D&D. We’ve run all sorts of other games ranging from Shadow of the Demon Lord to Orbital Blues to The Quiet Year. However, right now we are focused on building the community, which means lots of D&D.
