Janiib Sultanate

The Janiib Sultanate, located in the eastern deserts of Jalafar, was a once vast nation with a wide-reaching influence. Despite the difficulties of desert life, its people thrived through a shared effort for survival, eventually growing into an opulent and proud country. This long history of allyship, however, has recently been wounded by the blade of division and has shrunk to half of its former size. While the Sultanate is still well-off, its future remains vastly uncertain.

Muqatas and Geography

The Janiib Sultanate is divided into Muqatas, which are each ruled by one of the nation's Sultans. The Sultanate was once made up of seven Muqatas, but the recent divisions have reduced this total to only three. Listed below are these Muqatas.

Qatalshawati: Qatalshawati sits in the center of Regions and Countries, stretching from the northern banks of the River Qalbi in the south to the Sea of Kings in the north. The city of Althuenahr, which is the Muqata's capital, also serves as an unofficial capital for the entire Sultanate. As it encompasses a region of rocky highlands, Qatalshawati is one of few places that bodes well for architecture and holds Janiibia's most populated cities. Like most other Muqatas, Qatalshawati has a very large agriculture industry thanks to the River Qalbi, but industries in livestock and mining are also major contributors to the local economy.

Qatalbahrgha: Situated between the rocky badlands of the Hawazims and the waters of Bawazin Bay, Qatalbahrgha holds the Sultanate's most important coasts. Settlements such as its capital of Thuebayar serve as ports, allowing the Sultanate to harvest resources from their seas and engage in trade with distant nations. These seafaring practices are what define the Muqata's economy, and their role in the Sultanate's lucrative trade routes have made it one of the wealthiest of the Muqatas.
