The Consortium

Session

Kingston

Codex and Berdyn head to the Royal Library. Codex is investigating a few things, specifically the information about the Citadel and the Metallic Dragonborn.

Bale goes to speak to Pyyrhos, speaking to Jacquette briefly, who is wearing a dress, blending in with the royal society.  She is going to have tea with her Grandmother.

Bale asks Pyyrhos to be his Castellan. Pyyrhos would be happy to, but he needs Gilbert’s permission first. Gilbert isn’t going to give that permission until after the next king is decided, for the purpose of propriety. However, it is very likely to happen. Bale asks Pyyrhos who he would vote for as king, and Pyyrhos advises that Edmund is the safest choice. The traditionalists support Edmund as he is crown prince.  The people however love Morys, though the traditionalists believe that Morys is irresponsible. Drastic changes would fall under Cecily, perhaps what people aren’t ready for. A vote for Anthony is chaos and death, and throwing the vote away would be Gilbert. Gilbert is likely not voting for Gilbert.

Codex’s research about the Northern Expedition. Lord Alegan insisted on delivering the supplies. The Supplies were completely bankrolled by the royal family. References to the Supplies are done by the Consortium.  The Consortium was four individuals. The Consortium were Epiphany Visi’dark, Priest of Ioun, Steven Wrightson, High Priest of Pelor, Father Clarence, Taben Staves – High Inquisitor of St. Cuthbert. (St. Cuthbert orphans that are abandoned are given weapon last names)

The Consortium was brought together by “the Vision” to put this together. The logistics of moving 100 people to the Citadel was incredible, it drained the royal coffers. The royal library contains three of the four visions, as narrated by Stephen, Clarence, and Taven, which were given at Sirencall 20, 205. It took five years to make the expedition a reality. The expedition left at Lanternglow 19, 210. Epiphany’s vision is missing. It also contains the last two Sendings between Stephen and Epiphany, which was on Sirencall 17, 210. According to Epiphany, the mission was a success, and she was at peace.

It is a lot to absorb.

We return and learn that Bale has met with Lydia, and made arrangements to pretend to be courting her, only to appear to cruelly dump her later on, so as to raise Lydia’s social standing and allow Bale time to Court Katla. Lydia asks that Bale convince Pyyrhos to marry her, as an additional requirement.

Pyyrhos says yes, when Bale later asks.

When we all return together, we are told by Colette that Talia Hooks has been released, and Patrick Kyngstowne has arrived in the city, heading directly to Antony’s estate. Also, Collette had an offer from a spy, a bribe for any information about Katla Liondark. She refused, but it means that they know Katla exists. That isn’t great.

So we decide to go ahead and get access to the extradimensional plane.  A Sending to Yadira and selling her the massive dragon skin we acquired gets us the doors, and access to the extradimensional plane. We set the doors to only open to us to go inside, but anyone can leave the plane.

We set one door to be Able’s stable, and another to be the Wizard’s tower outer door. We also sell Yadira the two Land Sharks, which were a problem.

Mouse tells us that the phoenix eggs are hatching soon. The Elves helped her by tapping a geothermal vent to pull up some lava, and the eggs are cracking. Soon they will be born. They are intelligent creatures, and aren’t trained.

We then word of recall to Lasthaven. Codex asks Berdyn to help him search the Library and his mother’s study. It turns out that an entire section of time was removed, all references to the Citadel, and almost every instance of the Northern Expedition. But Berdyn’s eyes are amazing, and his investigation finds a journal entry of Epiphany’s, written shortly before the expedition leaves. It tells of her heartbreak to leave, and my efforts to try to go with her. It also says that Flint, Tyrana, and Jynx left at the beginning of Lanternglow of 210. This blindsides Codex, as he has no memory of his father and sisters. He thought they left years ago, shortly before he was born. In fact, that was what he was told by Epiphany. His mother lied to him.

We collect Katla and a sleeping Cynthia, explain the situation. Because of Hooks, Katla agrees to go with us.  We teleport, but screw up the teleport and instead of going to the Tower we end up deep in the forest. Simon summons his mount, a Pegasus, and puts Katla and Cynthia on him to take them to the tower.  We then walk the rest of the distance.  We take Katla and Cynthia to the Extradimensional space, and paint them some furniture, because we forgot furniture.  And then we get them light sources, because we forgot light sources.

Then we return to Kingston and rest.
