SOUTHSPIRE
We meet with High Marshall Jendelle Coldtale and discuss the plan to do the prisoner exchange with the The Elder Brain, trading the enslaved Dwarves and Gnomes in exchange for the Mentis Imperium, the Living artifact of two conjoined Mind Flayers.
Jendelle agrees to assist us – we can move the Mentis Imperium through Southspire and down into the Underdark, arrangements will be made. We have to give them three days advance notice.
We then head to the Forge and ask Delre to fix it. She will do so, but it will take two weeks. On Shieldwall 1st, the Guardian will be completed.
We then head to Maplebrook, in preparation for our meeting with Yadira and Destin Acquisitioner. We speak to them about the artifacts and powerful magical items we have put up for bid.
For the Eye of Vecna, we had two choices – The Demon Aggranath or the Elven Paladin to Corellon - Penlador Kevadirtinu.
It is an interesting choice. Aggranath is a servant of Kas the Destroyer, the Vampire Lord that betrayed Vecna and cut out the Hand and the Eye. He seeks the Hand and Eye to destroy them. Kas possesses the Sword of Kas, which means that he has the means to destroy the Eye. He resides in the Demiplane of Dread, and is a deeply evil creature.
Penlador Kevadirtinu is an exalted Paladin in service to Corellon, a high elf hundreds of years old. He is dedicated to also destroying the Eye and Hand.
After some discussion, Codex cannot morally get behind giving it to Aggranath as the payment would be in spoils of misery, the Demon and his master are callous and evil creatures and their money is blood money.
Codex chooses Penlador Kevadirtinu.
We also discuss the bidders for the Undoing, the mace that feeds souls of those it kills to That Which Lurks.
Then we address the 5 statues used for veneration of That which Lurks, and after discussion grant it to Catherine Cromwell, a follower of That with Lurks.
We close the deals and collect our funds. The Ring of Wishes we get from the sale of the Eye allows us to finally reverse the unnatural aging on Berdyn. His hair darkens to black from the grey, and lines leave his eyes.
We return to SouthSpire, have dinner at the Sleeping Boar Restaurant. We enjoy a nice meal.
