The Southern Wilds
The road changes to stone and cobble, and is easier to travel as it is less muddy. We see farmsteads in the distance, though no smoke rises from chimneys. Bad sign.
We enter one of the farmhouses and find that the family within was killed… and partially eaten. Examining the bodies reveals the bite marks as human.
The house is a shambles, the furniture and possessions were destroyed. No valuables were taken. No preserved food was taken.
This points to the undead, perhaps ghouls or zombies. Only undead wouldn’t care about preserved food and choose to eat people.
This brings up a problem. Everlife is a Holy city, and they have a massive necropolis nearby where most of the population bury their dead. Did something happen to the city?
We barricade ourselves in one of the farmhouses and nervously wait until dawn.
