We are hung over, but we manage to make our way to the Arcives to learn about Eldrym, the guise of Xiammantoneldrym the red dragon.
Meet with Ollell Pageturner, discuss dragons. Find out that 250 years ago, a Green, Black, Blue and Red were sighted fairly close to one another (along with the white), near EastSpire. Anton is confirmed to have devastated EastSpire, destroying the city. 250 years ago was 30 years before the world ended. For 5 different chromatic dragons to meet is momentous. But why where they meeting?
Can find more records on dragon sightings at the Eastspire archives, assuming it survived the attack. Told that the station has a guardpost at a day up, and then the ruined city. He tells Codex that the Archives in Eastspire should be to the left of the city’s entrance to the Underdark and train stations.
Codex is given a close look at the archival seal for EastSpire, which Ollell has one of. Codex can use Locate Object to find it’s twin and get a better bead on where the Archives are. He is advised that he will likely need to crack through the collapsed part of the cavern with stoneshape.
The distance is considerable, but the Underdark trains provide an important shortcut. However, the trains are two days travel down stairs. We would have to take two days to travel downstairs, take the train, and then travel two days back upstairs to the ruined city of EastSpire.
At the one day mark, there is a rest station. Delver’s Rest in Southspire, and a guardpost for Eastspire.
We head to the Auction, and start bidding for magic items. We win a magic mace and a bag of holding. A carpet of flying goes for 25,000 GP to a drow buyer, as does several other magic items.
Berdyn heads out to the Silverchaser residence, and then to meet up with old friends. We come back to the Inn. Berdyn uses the sending stones, and tells Codex that Delre spent her childhood in EastSpire. She might know more about the ruined city.
We meet Delre at the Forge. Delre was indeed at Eastspire, and watched Anton destroy the Residential area with fire (the stone was lower melting point and just turned into lava). He then rampaged through the great hall, the stone there was obsidian and couldn’t be melted. But it targeted the archive specifically. We learned that the Archive information was etched in stone and metal in those days, and that can be reassembled, possibly. We may be able to learn more about what Anton was trying to hide.
Delre says that the white dragon’s lair should be to the Northwest, outside of the Entrance to Eastspire. It is on top of the nearby mountain. Delre was one of the few survivors of the attack, married her husband later that same year.
We find out what Farin Goldbringer told the Silverchasers about why Berdyn “Died”. He said he died defending the varavan from human brigands and that was backed up by the 2 dwarf guards. Later on Farin killed those 2 dwarf guards, and a serving girl, then fled to the Underdark.
The scandal dropped his family out of the high standing, and they are out of the richer clan residences. But Ferin made over ½ million gold in backroom dealings with Hooks when they were smuggling metal. Where did that money go?
