Kingston – R2 - Royal District of Prince Gilbert
Load up on the equipment requested by Michael, and head to the Kingdom of the Tiger Embassy. Then we realize it isn’t sunup yet, and hide until dawn.
We head into the Tiger Embassy, and are to transport 50 fully armed samurai to Everlife. Karesi is there to assist and organize. Xiao is also there and wants to go, but Karesi dissuades her from doing so. She leaves disappointed. Everlife needs to be made safe before the God-daughter of the Emperor returns.
Over the course of six teleportation circles, all of us get to Everlife
Everlife
The streets of Everlife are thick with rotting miasma, as the corpses are decaying in the late summer sun. We meet the two guards at the gates to the Noble Section, Tristan Chaucer and Rose Snowborn. Tristan was the Merchant’s son that was put in prison after being caught with a Erica Sabion|Noble’s Daughter]. He lets us into the Noble Section.
Walter is waiting for us. He is another soldier. He takes us to the Tower.
Talk to Michael Sherkev about the situation. Albrect Johnson suffered a massive heart attack, and is resting. Crea Cloudfang managed to save his life. It has helped him take it easy, it would not help the city if he died.
Michael also tells us that the Noble Woman that was taken away was Erica Sebion. She was 17 at the time so she was considered a minor, Codex can check the Gate logs of Kingston to see if she indeed made it to Kingston.
We meet with Albrect, and he tells us he is going to rest and take it easy. We talk to him letting him know that the Paladins of St. Cuthbert are coming. We also talk to him about the Alchemical Books, the book of life and death, the book of names. He quickly tells us the book isn’t here, but we press and find out that the book may have once been here. We ask him about Allan Ogwyn and he confirms that he was an Acolyte decades ago, before Albrect’s time, but left. Allan was a Scholar and was more interested in knowledge rather than belief.
We look at the catalog of the library, and found out that a shipment of books were brought in 100 years ago. Then 50 years ago similar books were removed. It seems as if the books may be at Deseragar.
We realize at this point that the Flame of Pelor was resting on a sealed sarcophagus. Then it was removed, and the Idol to Vecna was placed there afterwards. Was the Flame protecting something?
We head to the gravesite and the mausoleum where the flame rested. We talk to Xenth’r, the Spectator – Xenth’r is growing additional eyes and his eye can now neutralize magic, he is turning slowly into a Beholder. This is worrying. We convince Xenth’r to take a look at the sarcophagus, he sees writing. When he looks, the writing appears, it was kept invisible. He pushes it closer to us, and we read the inscription.
“Here lies the final resting place of Bahamut, God of Good dragons. May he return when needed.“
Bahamut is dead. Does this mean that Tiamat was triumphant? Was this what caused the freeze? And did that mean that the Flame was protecting the sarcophagus? Was the Idol denying access to the Sarcophagus? Lots of questions.
We find out the sheet that covered the Flame of Pelor, and it is a minor artifact that dampens magical power, including other artifacts. This is what Allan Ogwyn used to transport the Flame.
