Following the cataclysmic event known as the Vermindoom, the survivors at Embergard send messages to all known Cities of Sigmar accross the Mortal Realms, begging for aid against the horrors that had emerged at their doorstep. And the Cities answered. Human, Aelf and Duardin from Hammerhal, Tempest's Eye, and beyond, have raised their banners, sending what they can to ensure the survival of Sigmar's holdouts in Aqshy.
One of these hosts hails from the City of Torvil in distant Ghur, the Realm of Beasts. Torvil is a city in the cold wastes of Andtor, earning its fame as both a refuge from the harsh climate, and a place where those gifted with magic can study the phenomena known as Leylines.
Though founded at the waning years of The Era of the Beast, this city is already well versed in the art of blood and steel. Since the Hour of Ruin, the free peoples here have struggled as they are being relentlessly assaulted by monstrous hordes of Nurgle's Maggotkin, Savage Kruleboyz, and as of late, foul Skaven ambushers. It is a struggle that, ever since the Vermindoom, has become harder and harder to endure.
The expedition force sent out to aid their brothers in Embergard is therefore not just fighting for the survival of one city of Sigmar. As the times grow ever more dire, the city council of Torvil has given clear instructions to their force: Salvage what we can for our own salvation. As such, the relief force is keeping keen eyes on any oppurtunity to gather resources, finding allies, and even choosing sites to create a new outpost should the times become too dire at home.
