The Crew of the Flaming Rose is a warband of former sailors from a once-proud ship, the Flaming Rose, now transformed into a ragtag group of mercenaries and protectors for the city of Pyrehaven. Originally, the crew sailed the seas with great pride, operating a formidable vessel known for its firepower and maritime prowess. However, their fortunes turned grim when they encountered a colossal, fiery-scaled leviathan that destroyed the Flaming Rose in a violent sea battle. The survivors managed to limp back to the port city of Pyrehaven, their bodies and spirits broken, with only a few cannons, supplies, and remnants of their ship to show for their struggle.
Seeing an opportunity to turn the tides in their favor, the city of Pyrehaven hired the crew as unofficial protectors of the city, using their sea-based experience to ward off potential threats. Despite the possibility to gain another ship in Pyrehaven, the crew vowed never to set sail again, haunted by the memory of the beast that destroyed their former home.
In Pyrehaven, they soon found an unlikely ally in Straka Volchkov, a young adventurer with the same daring spirit as the crew. Straka Volchkov and his companions quickly gained the crew’s favor, and together they embarked on several perilous adventures. However, tragedy struck when Straka Volchkov and his group left for a hunting expedition and never returned, vanishing without a trace. The crew, determined to uncover the fate of their beloved companion, now journeys in search of answers, guided by a sense of vengeance.
Though no longer sailors, the Crew of the Flaming Rose remains an unpredictable and volatile force, guarding Pyrehaven while continuing their quest to discover what happened to Straka Volchkov and his companions.
