A former capital settlement of the Skulldrinkerz clan, this settlement used to be the place of vile cruelty and skullduggery. A place where the killaboss of the clan was seated and where all the other Kruleboyz came to offer the spoils of their endeavours. Built in the long lost past, the gloomy buildings of Kruleboyz were piled on top of another as the city continuously kept sinking under the swamps. On the eve of its ruination, it was a monstrosity of a city, spread across the swamp as a labyrinth, home of thousands of orruks who lived and died there, their lives ruled by petty ambition and fear of those who rose above them. Perhaps too vile even for other morruks, those Kruleboyz not hailing from Gnashmaw always viewed the inhabitants of the city with distrust, not liking their way of life, much preferring to stalk the swamps, hunting for men and monsters alike, honing their skillz in true morruk fashion. Liking them or not though, all the other warbands feared the city and the crule might its master could unleash, for the hordes of orruks within were innumerable and were all controlled by a single killlaboss, Karrgak Fear.
This killaboss ruled the city for so long, that none of the other orruks remembered the previous ruler, his warlust sated in the arenas of the city, while his cunning was perpetually honed to perfection by the art of playing all the other ambitious bossess against each other. It was he, who guided the might of the Skulldrinkerz and the armies of Gnashmaw against the slaves of chaos, stormgitz and the waves of death, expanding the swamps and his domain. These rituals used to expand the swamps were also carried out from the city and whole portions of it were devoted to swampcallas serving the big Boss. As such, weird orruk magics ran deep through the city, entwining with it. Thus the city itself became an anchor for the swamp, both dependant on each other for continuous survival. Being so intertwined with the swamp, creatures native to it were also present in the city, breeding much faster there thanks to the malign orruk energies, which led to the construction of terrible managers where the beasts of war were bread. Yet another thing which unsettled the Kruleboyz not native to the city, as their monsta killaz proud themselves on their ability to catch the beasts and then break them into submission.
For centuries, the city grew and swamps with it. But as the skaven poured into the swamps, corrupting it, first cracks appeared. Skaven warp magics manifested themselves in the city, due to its connection to the despoiled parts of the swamp, endless spells rampaging through the city. Swampcallas, desperately trying to contain this evil, thus couldn't accompany their Boss in numbers needed and thus any hope of victory against skaven was lost. With the obliteration of Karrgak's armies, the power of the clan broke, orruks being cut down in swaths. Finally, skaven entered Gnashmaw, swampcallas already dead, loosing to the destructive power of ruin. Remaining orruks met the same fate as their brethren who went to war and the city burned in emerald flames and with it the whole swamp.
However, some Kruleboyz still hold hope, that the damage could be undone and the swamps restored. In these dreams, Gnashmaw remains a centrepiece, still the nexus of the swamp, whoever could cleanse it of the skaven corruption, could yet gain the control over the swamp. If possible, then time is running short, for even though the power of ruinous magic fades with the departure of the skaven, so too does the connection of Gnashmaw to the land…
