Battlereport - Que y sus amigos

El Antiguo

It was another chaotically calm day in the Ravaged Coast.
The branches of the trees danced in the wind, accompanied by the rustling of leaves. An ideal day to survey the area around El Antiguo because in the forest, you're never truly alone. And when you think you are, just trust that you could always stumble upon a Sylvaneth, silently watching you.

The battle began, as it often does, quite unexpectedly. Que y sus amigos were weaving through the forest, right next to the ancient tree El Antiguo preparing for a calm journey to their next destination, when suddenly – THEY REALIZED they were in a trap. Followers of Agonizel, as it turned out, had unexpectedly decided to emerge from the shadows and see what exactly these Sylvaneths were up to in the forest.

While Que y sus amigos were searching for a stable position, tucked between a tree, a tree, a dryad, and yet another tree, it was the Followers who made the first move. With swift movements, they closed in. But as any Sylvaneth knows, sometimes the best way to stop movement is simply to place a tree in the way.

Both sides knew well that the battle would be won by whoever held the strategic position. But there was something else in the air, as both generals sized each other up. And then it came, like a bolt from the blue sky. They know each other.

The Sylvaneth began their movement, this time a bit more cautiously than in the previous battle. Poletušky moved gracefully toward the first of the strategic locations, while Las Espadas and Los Arcos together set out toward the second. They maintained enough distance for maneuvering (which was sometimes difficult when the forest changed before their eyes). Arrows flew through the air, and the Followers felt their first losses.

But they did not give up. After the first hit from the arrows, they caught their breath and moved closer to the Sylvaneth and closer to the strategic position. Trees cutting around them.

But Que y sus amigos were not intimidated. Anacardo asked the spirits of the forest, and new trees grew from the ground, in the same places where the previous ones had fallen. Espadas charged. Los Arcos moved closer. And in the rear ranks of the Sylvaneth army, other trees – not trees, but dryads – could be seen advancing as well.

Slowly, but with precision, the Sylvaneth proved who is the master of the forest. Even though sometimes they need to help themselves by creating their own.
