Marshal’s Log, Entry 8:

Forged by the recently collected Emberstone, by me and Zinkev. We have been able to create what we call an Emberstone Rifle. The smelting process was very intense and time-consuming, but I believe we are the first faction on this part of the Ravaged Coast to pull it off. It has been dubbed 'Firewhitsle'

At first glance, the weapon looks like an ordinary rifle. It is slightly heavier than a common rifle found in the Cities of Sigmar and looks like darkened steel. This is not it's natural colour; our warforger has put many heat-suppressive wards on the weapon as the heat would otherwise be too much to handle. Two pieces of near pure Emberstone are found on the tip of the lock and inside the breech, making black powder unnecessary. It's effect was clearly shown at our makeshift shooting range.

When the trigger is pulled, a small recoil is noticable. The more dangerous part is that the wards strain under the explosive heat released by the emberstones smashed together. The entire weapon quickly turns bright red as it is fired consecutive times. It should only be handled with thick gloves as the user will otherwise quickly get third-degree burns.

What is most impressive is however it's piercing capabilities. We were quite pleased when we saw the first shot had went through the test dummie's plating, but when we went searching for the bullet, we found to our astonishment that it could not be found on the range. After much searching, we saw a small hole in the wall at the same level where I had shot the dummy. When we peered into the bullet hole, we could see a light on the other end. The wall was 4,5 meters thick. It seems to have the capability of slaying a troggoth on the spot.

This weapon is a testament of the ingenuity of the free peoples of Sigmar. I dare say it is the pride of my collection and the envy of many a Greywater gunsmith.
