Crypt Guardians

Dracothian Guard Concussors – Armed with Soulreaper Scythes

Among the Obsidian Watch rides a grim and silent cadre known as the Crypt Guardians, Dracothian Guard Concussors who have traded their traditional stormstrike hammers for long, curved scythes forged in the soul-furnaces of Shyish. These scythes are not only weapons of war but tools of sacred rite—designed to sever the ties of undead spirits and reap the corruption from defiled lands. The Crypt Guardians were once tasked with defending the ancient tomb-cities of Shyish, and though those cities now lie in ruin, their vow endures.

Clad in somber-black armor etched with funereal runes, they ride alongside their mighty Dracoths—scaled beasts trained to sense necromantic energy and roar with celestial fire. The Guardians rarely speak, communicating through gestures, helm-tilts, and shared ritual. Their leader, Thamior Gravebrand, is said to have been a tomb-warden in his mortal life, and his bond with the dead runs deep. He sees the Crypt Guardians not merely as soldiers but as sanctifiers, purging what the living fear to confront.

The Crypt Guardians joined the Watch as reinforcements dispatched by Lord-Commander Keiser ven Brecht himself, a sign of renewed support for Kyros Vraxand his quest. With them they brought a gift: a proud and ancient Dracoth named Umbraclaw, bred in the shadowed stables of the Stormholds of Shyish. This dracoth was presented to Vrax in solemn ceremony, a symbol of his restored honor and his elevation once more to the rank of Lord-Celestant. Now, when the Guardians ride into battle, they do so beside their old commander—reborn, respected, and astride a beast worthy of his storm-forged destiny.
