To the masters of Hammerhal Aqsha, we send this report of the events that transpired at the Ravaged Coast. Our finest scouts from the Vanguard chamber have been sent to gather this information, with a few warriors having been sent to Azyr while fulfilling their duties. May Sigmar preserve their souls.
The last prior details we received, shared by the Strongpoints at Ebony Keep, Stromspire, and Yndrinienburg, informed us of a joined attack at Ashenroom Island, intent on gathering enough Emberstone to secure a collected base. These forces were joined by the Xhensian Realm Host and Quel y sus amigos. It was noted that landings of local chaos lords and Orruks were expected.
The details of the battles have to come in, but the victor of the battle at Ashenroom Island was clear when the western coast of the Ravaged Coast was shaken. As if by a mountain of blackpowder, the lands have been torn asunder between Gloomwater Summit and Thraknaw. Many great structures sunk into the frothing murky waters boiling up from this wound in the earth, with Stormspire being lost as well as the infested remains of Ilath-Veryn as the many skaven there were claimed by the tide of marsh filth.
This was all the design of a ruthless warlord from the most foul and ruthless Kruleboyz tribe, calling themselves the Marrowcravers. Formed from the broken remains of another orruk clan, this new group quickly distinguished themselves from the other forces of destruction through a slew of cunning victories all across the land. Though at first we simply thought they gathered others of their vile kind, now we know there was a malevolent design to their rampage, one we discovered far too late. Unfortunately, just as with the rats, we had all the pieces at just the wrong time.
Now a large part of the Ravaged Coast has been turned into festering marshland, a primordial soup where the followers of Destruction reign. Orruks march throughout the land, tearing down the civilizations they find either not brutal or not cunning enough, while Gargants roam the land as they see the world brought back in Behemat’s design. Yet the Marrowcravers are again on the move. It is said that their leader has not called the Waaagh finished as he intends to move east, pressing further into the Skaven lands. We are conflicted on the course to act, for although they hate the Skaven with a great fury, they are sweeping through the land like a living storm, crushing whatever they encounter.
As of survivors, we note that of our strongpoints, Yndrinienburg has somehow emerged the calamity with little damage. In the hour of need, it were the free peoples that could cross the boundaries between many of the other races as they allied themselves with both the Stormcast Eternals and the local Sylvaneth. Though not able to halt the destruction, it is now one of our stalbe western bases here in the Ravaged coast where those who call themselves Friends of Sigmar can find refuge and a base of operations. While the Torvilian host is called back home to Ghur, the Strongpoint stands As a beacon of defiance.
No much further to the East, the great Sanctum of Stone can be found of the mercurial Lumineth. It were they who at the moment of truth chose logic over old ties, and sided with the orruks. A desperate gamble to preserve their hold on the mountains that paid off as they were able to raise their runes which calmed down the spewing volcano at Ashenroom and shielded the Sanctum of Stone from the Kruleboy's sinkholes. Yet their situation is precarious, as there are still many foes about, and their shift in allegiance during the assault on Ashenroom Island has left them with few friends. Every action, however noble it may be, will have its repercussions.
Finally, while the forces of chaos have largely been pushed back, it has to be said that they have not been vanquished yet. For while many skaven still scurry amongst the ruins of the Ravaged Coast, a new citadel has risen. Far in the north, the Tower of Arcana spews vitriolic clouds of bright blue and pink into the sky, twisting the nearby lands. Here, fire is even more fierce and hungry, even burning on water or the very clouds. Tzeentch has seen the skills of his followers, and in return they will be gifted the tools they never knew they needed. More wings, more beaks, more claws. The Arcane Council will receive whatever they need to plan the Ruinous Powers’ next move. And that move will be soon.
All that the Vanguard Chamber can report is that the war here is far from over. The Ravaged Coasts are bursting with violence, luring many great and terrible generals to risk everything for a chance of power or glory. We advise reinforcements from all corners of the Mortal Realms. For this is an age of conquest, an age of great struggling, an Age of Sigmar.
