Healing is an extremely valued spell of Life Magic, and useable for the higher level mages in Life Magic. Healing is basically a manipulation of the life inside the body to help heal it, such as creating more and better white blood cells to fight illness, or rapidly growing back skin tissue. Paired with Blood Magic, mages can outclass any non-magic healer.
