The Valdarian Diplomatic Incident of 548 is an incident when the Coalition of Nations found out that the Republic of Valdar used slaves, going against some of the core resolutions of the code of the Coalition. The Order, representing the Coalition, sent multiple messages requesting that Valdar emancipate their slaves immediately. Valdar refused, and in retaliation, all members of the Coalition put into place embargoes against Valdar, severely hurting the Valdarian economy.
Still, the Valdarian Isolationist Party president denied to give up their slaves. And so, the Coalition sent about 5,000 troops to the Ravenna-Valdar border. While this amount of troops wasn't much, it was a promise of things to come, as the Coalition made it very clear that at least another 100,000 soldiers were on their way to the border, and were ready to completely drown Valdar in a sea of steel and blood. Seeing this, the president decided to accept the Coalition's terms to free all their slaves.
The Coalition, satisfied, went home. In Valdar, however, this complete decimation of the foundation caste, and the complete destruction of the caste system in Valdar, causing a complete societal upset, and causing the public opinion of the VIP to plummet for decades.
