Darshi was originally the daughter of an extremely wealthy trade baron in one of the neighboring counties of the Central Ravennan Provinces. She was married off to the young Prince Erdin at age 16 to solidify a potential alliance between the trade baron and the monarchy, though it was hardly a long-lasting one. Following the former King's very premature death, Erdin ascended to the throne. He wasn't a very impressive King, doing little and dying of a heart attack a couple of years later. During this time, however, Darshi educated herself on matters of governance and started to take over governing the country.
When Erdin eventually died, he left behind his will, which dictated that Darshi, was to be named ruling regent in the time for it took for his son, Umhen, to reach 16. Seeing as Umhen was currently two, that would be a very long time. Nobody expected much from Darshi, as a state of political apathy had overtaken the populace in recent years following centuries of neglect by the central provinces and the rise of warlords in ruling the outer provinces. Most within the central government were also politically apathetic, most seeing their offices as a way to accrue as much wealth as possible. However, the opening days of Darshi's reign was highly energetic, with the purging of the central government, ejecting most of the more outwardly corrupt from their offices.
Not only that, but Ailsing's focus was on the expansion of the Central Provinces and the expulsion of all warlords from the nation. This highly ambitious goal was tempered by highly creative uses of The Inquisition's agreement with the Kingdom of Ravenna, causing the greatest increase of Ravenna's military since the Ravenna Revolt. Darshi quickly conquered multiple neighboring warlords, and began the long task of crushing the criminal underworld. Darshi also began multiple reforms in this area. She also brought the Inquisition closer to the government, strengthening the legal bond between the two.
Ravenna before Darshi was mostly agricultural. It still is today, but even more then. She began construction on other sources of products and materials, and shifted to trying to make Ravenna an autarky. These efforts died down and didn't really get off the ground.
Darshi did have a few notable flaws during her time as a regent, though. She was highly xenophobic, putting tariffs and embargoes on other nations, kneecapping the Ravennan economy, which was dependent on foreign trade to acquire materials which were hard to gather, like ores. She also failed to completely crush the criminal underworld, which caused many more problems down the line for Ravenna. Darshi also showed tons of favoritism to her father when she captured his land, even giving him a seat in the government.
Her reign came to an end when Umhen became sixteen and ascended to the throne. He was a very middling king, causing most of the effects of Darshi's campaign to fade away within a few years, and causing warlords to spring up in previously conquered provinces. As for Darshi, she was found dead in her private manor a few months after Umhen became King. The cause of her death is highly debated. The official claim is that she died of a heart attack, but there are a myriad of theories regarding her death. Some speculate that Umhen, or at least one of his supporters had her assassinated because of her strong political power, and her potential to be a serious threat to his power and authority. Others suspect that it was The Cult of Zelial because of the same reason. A few even theorize that she was never killed, and instead it was all a cover-up for something. Despite this, Darshi goes down as one of the most influential leaders in Ravennan history.
