We make our first journey to the Neutral Ground of Baracoa mostly in tact. Santiago is well enough after the sugar snake incident of '16 to lead a mission into the Spanish installment on the island looking for the location of the Vasquez Plantation. My magic would be quite useful in tracking down what he needs, and I'm sure he could use someone to watch his back, so I volunteered
Santiago's mind magic proved incredibly useful. I wasn't expecting to just walk *in* to the base, but there we were, walking past a check point unchecked. That was the start, and end, to our fortune that morning.
I spotted a finely crafted alarm bell similar to one Crowly described telepathically. When I tried to investigate the magic within, I was immediately blocked by some sort of magic warding me off. I knew our time undetected on that base was short. Shit.
Santiago found the maps he needs, and recorded them to memory. Now it's time to leave. Yesterday. Santiago's attention aversion spell is still going, maybe we can still pull this off.
We didn't pull things off. As we get past the last check point and it looks like we're in the clear, we're stopped by an intimidating senior office started to head us off. I start casting a spell to put distance between us, and as the Imago formed in my head, it all fell away with a stern "No." from the Spanish officer.
