Mostly made, not born. Generally memories of their animal life are hazy at best, but all tell the same story of drinking from a stream with flashes like the sun reflecting off shiny fish, but that would disappear if you managed to catch one. Fell asleep, woke up in a strange place with two legs and opposable thumbs. They tend to live about 80 years, longer for long-lived species and a bit less for the shorter ones.
Two anthros of the same original species can produce children, but it’s pretty rare. There are some small stable populations, but a newly-made anthro might never find them. The Eyra are very clear that they were not created in this way, but there’s no proof either way.
