Goblinoid

Found everywhere, but their homeland is in the north. They don't really like the cold, so they leave it as often as possible, but since nobody wants goblinoids around, they're forced back just as frequently. Sometimes they make treaties with the orcish nomads, but they're not very good at keeping treaties either, so they usually break them with disastrous results. There are a few goblin tribes that have learned to get along in the cities, usually doing jobs that nobody else wants, like trash collection or sewer cleaning. They still retain most of their goblin customs, but are aware enough that if they don't adapt to city life, they'll have to go back to their frigid homeland. Rarely, a very clever goblin might be adopted into a gnomish clan and adopt their customs as his own. Hobgoblins and bugbears are more likely to turn to banditry on the trade road or raid road towns for a living. One hobgoblin, Krubag, famously attended and graduated from the School of Magic in Broken Axle and became a powerful Transmuter. His tale is still told today, 300 years after his death.
