After finishing her work with the Good Intentions and taking over Frude's Farm, Mercy began a new life, separate from the responsibilities of the Dalish guard and her father. She peacefully tended to the farm, making repairs and feeding the livestock, before the Siege of Dale commenced. She decided against participating in the conflict, but was forced to defend the farm against numerous Wildermen that came in waves. She fought for 11 hours straight, killing an entire battalion of Wildermen, but breaking her blade in the process.
With the farm defended, Mercy unhappily went to the city Dale, where she learned of King Arradon's fall. It was here, that she began to expose the corrupt government officials that had led to her downfall in the city guard. The corrupt politicians were then given their last meals, and headed to the gallows to be hanged. Mercy's father was amongst them, and after numerous pleads to never be seen again upon release, Mercy protected her father from the noose.
With her reputation restored due to the news of her defense of the farm and Threstleway, she was once again offered a position amongst the guard. She declined, and instead delved herself deep into the politics of Dale, where she managed to find out that there was an Aurorean that could still be alive. Wilda Aurorean, Aunt of Arradon, was last recorded heading into the Crimson Woods in an effort to escape her duty and heritage.
Mercy, now hardened by her experiences and horrors, began to make her way west, towards the unmapped forest of the Crimson Woods.
