It is unknown to written history of how the War of Black Leaves came to be. Presumably, the war derived from how the original Aurorean settlers handled the beginning relations with the already present Radorean people. The war was between the Radorean and Aurorean people, and lasted for hundreds of years. It only ended when Queen Malia ordered the entrances to the final resting place of the Radoreans be collapsed. This led to Ost Guruth, last and final resting place of the Radoreans to be put under the control of the Auroreans.
