Konijn are small folk of the bunneth family. Their hardiness and migratory tendencies keeps them generally isolated from most civilizations of Wildemount, compounded by an instinctual paranoia and desire to avoid confrontation.
Arctic (longhaired) konijn generally make their home in the Greying Wildlands, while standard (shorthaired) konijn are found in the more temperate regions of the Marrow Valley, Zemni Fields, and towards the Menagerie Coast. Enchanted and mystical forests are the home of feyblood konijn (konalope), as they are able to coexist peacefully with dangerous creatures due to their gifts from the fey. Horned konijn (konimiraj), the most aggressive variety, can be found throughout Wildemount, especially wherever there is the draw of magic and danger.
Konijn in the Dwendalian Empire
The most common variety of konijn is the shorthaired, but most folk in the Dwendalian Empire have never laid eyes on a konijn, shorthaired or otherwise.
Given their preference for the countryside, the most likely places to encounter konijn in the Dwendalian Empire are near the Felderwin Tillage in the Marrow Valley and the edges of the Velvin Thicket in the Zemni Fields, although they could be burrowing anywhere that is sufficiently peaceful.
Konijn on the Menagerie Coast
Konijn are typically land-oriented and not overly fond of coastal settings. A few feyblood konalope have been seen in the Doralle Woods, along with other fey spirits and creatures.
Konijn in Xhorhas
Only the bravest and boldest konijn, usually of the horned konamiraj variety, venture into Xhorhas. Those that do usually surprise the inhabitants with their slight stature and tough hearts. It is easy for a Xhorhasian to underestimate a konamiraj - but they usually do not make that mistake twice, and one who has previously encountered any konijn may approach with wary caution.
