The Catarina Mall is an abandoned shopping centre just outside of Andorough City. After shutting down due to insufficient funding, it fell into ruin and became a hazardous environment for any person choosing to enter.
In 752 AC, a Raiteran tody wyvern named Sorrel settled down in the mall. She began to cultivate edible flowering and fruiting Vishmian plants to make it feel more like home; nowadays, Catarina Mall is but a shadow of its former self. Plants have taken root in every single corner of the mall.
A small gelimo colony lives throughout the building, keeping mostly to themselves and remaining out of sight of Sorrel. Most of their population is located in what was once a toy store, a location she does not visit often. As far as Sorrel is aware, she is the only person living here.
Alongside Sorrel and the gelimos, a large variety of small wildlife has also made its home here. Small birds and mammals as well as thousands of insects - including but not limited to mosquitos, butterflies, beetles, and bees - have settled and formed a strong localized ecosystem. The water is full of a thriving population of microfauna including ostracods, fairy shrimp, copepods, and other invertebrates; said population feeds the gelimos and other animals living here.
Outside of the mall, a few animal and insect nests are present and the walls are covered in ivy and moss, but the soil is bare. Due to the environmental disaster that was the Andorough Dueling Grounds, large life is no longer supported in these soils. Dried dead grass, crumbling homes and abandoned businesses, and cobbled concrete surround the mall for miles in every direction. Despite all odds, the magic of one dragon managed to bring life back to the dueling grounds in one small, insignificant area.
