Janis Tannerson is a human monster slayer and a Pincer of the Claw of Arali stationed at Cloverhall in Reedenford. Janis is an extraordinarily accomplished and knowledgable hunter, and has spent much of her career dealing with the various creatures in and around Atherdale. She is a gruff, down to earth type, but she has a generally kind demeanor.
Description
Janis is a human with shortly cut, auburn curly hair, blue eyes, and light freckles. She has a prominent scar over a blind left eye. She is rather muscular. While her outfits change depending on her current mission, as she changes to best suit her current hunt, she is fond of her set of half plate armor. Along with a longword to her side, she carries a large halberd and a shortsword. Additionally, she tends to strap a rounded shield to her back, and hefts around a full pack covered in materials, vials, ropes, kits, and a set of javelins sticking out the top. She can often be spotted smoking a pipe.
Janis is generally good-spirited and kind, but she is above all else a pragmatist. She deeply respects the concept of money, and is not shy about her motivations to procure more of it. She has a rough-and-tumble approach to most things, though she tends to be highly prepared for most scenarios. She is well-studied, especially about her profession. Janis is fond of pipe and drink, which she refers to as her two vices. While she is happy to give advice, she is adamant that she will never work for free.
Skills and Abilities
Janis is a highly skilled fighter and hunter, capable of fighting with a plethora of weapons, and is highly adaptive and clever in combat. In addition, she speaks a number of languages, and is highly knowledgeable about beasts, abominations, monstrosities, and the like.
History
Janis originally hailed from the kingdom of Midradir, but grew tired of her simple life as a game hunter and eventually left to join the Claw of Arali in pursuit of greater game and fortune.
After working her way up to the rank of Pincer following work all across the Kalhastian Empire, she settled in Reedenford at Cloverhall, keeping her relatively close to her family in Midradir, should she ever get the urge to visit.
