Yaelatha Zelvass, often referred to as Yaelatha the Twisted, was the eldest daughter of Unknown and a member of the Zelvass royal family. Yaelatha was born extraordinarily pale with ghostly white hair, and as she grew she adopted a twisted, malicious personality, often torturing her younger siblings with strange beasts she would discover in the forests of Sanaris. So severe did Yaelatha's disposition become that her mother stripped her of her birthright, granting succession instead to her younger sister, Aniala Zelvass.
Yaelatha shut herself away in a tower in her adult years, and despite not emerging for nearly 100 years, somehow gave birth to a terrifying beast she named Anlath. After Anlath's birth, Yaelatha's personality changed drastically to that of a doting mother, caring for the beast with great love and affection. Yaelatha taught Anlath to love his family above all else, and for some time, this worked; Anlath was a largely peaceful creature, acting as a powerful defense against invaders of the royal palace. As Anlath was sensitive to light, Yaelatha wove a powerful magic to protect her son that would take the form of a protective carapace if Anlath was forced into brightness.
Yaelatha was killed during the invasion of Sanaris by the forces of Fectovarano in the Age of Gods, sending her child Anlath into a mad frenzy. Her body and spirit were whisked away by Yyn’hesva the Magician to the Tomb of Zelvass, where she was later watched over by Anlath.
