“I swear it talks to me, whispering secrets…”
~ Tuval the Lesser
The Inkwell Ring is a wondrous item and a wearable ring that requires attunement. It changes in size to suit the finger of a creature that is actively attuned to it.
Description
A ring of silver and brass, with a small inky jewel set in the center. The jewel seems to swirl when moved, and occasionally glimmers with color.
Effects
While wearing the ring, a creature can choose to have ink flow out of the ring and down their finger at will. This can be used to write a message. The ink will collect on the creature’s fingertip, but will not continue to flow to the point that it would drip off. If a writing implement is held with the ring hand, it will be filled with mundane ink.
Inky Tendril. As an action, you may manifest a tendril of ink that can extend up to 10 feet away. The tendril leaves ink on surfaces it touches. As part of the action, you may make a melee spell attack on a creature up to 10 feet away using the tendril, using your Spell Attack modifier and dealing 1d10 magical bludgeoning damage on a successful hit. You may maintain the tendril if you choose.
The ring resists further attempts at identification, but seems to contain greater power within.
