Thassen Threecoats

Captain Threecoats

Thassen Threecoats is the human leader of the Unknown, presiding over the caves of the Unknown below Bucktuck City. Threecoats has a powerful influence on the province of Atherdale, and his agents function as a form of thieves guild in the area, smuggling drugs and even conducting assassinations. Threecoats gets his name from the three large, peculiar overcoats he wears at all times.

Description

Appearance

Threecoats is an average-sized, scruffy-looking man with messy brown hair, unkempt stubble and a three-pointed hat. He has sharp brown eyes and a confident face. A large scar runs at an angle from his left eye down to his right cheek, across the bridge of his nose. Threecoats wears a decorated shirt covered in a variety of strange medals of varying shapes, colors and sizes. Three swords are on his belt, two on the left (a curved scimitar and a straight longsword) and one on the right (a scimitar), and a dagger is strapped to his chest. He wears three large overcoats; the outside coat is a dark leather, the middle coat is a dull red, and the inside coat is wooly brown, but the inside seems to sparkle slightly when exposed to light. Threecoats puts his arms through the inner 2 coats, but he wears the third coat like a mantle.

Personality

Threecoats has a commanding presence and calculating personality. He understands his importance and expects his demands to be met, yet remains practical and thoughtful. Threecoats only values those who have use to him, and otherwise cares little for the lives of others. He takes extreme offense to those that refer to him as a pirate.

Skills and Abilities

Threecoats is a competent leader, and seems to be a practiced fighter. He possesses a magic door that is capable of linking itself to a number of other doors in Atherdale and potentially beyond.

History

Threecoats met with the Cursebusters in 989 IaC to discuss a curse that had appeared on his magic door, rendering it useless. Threecoats was amused by the group's apparently unintentional meddling in the affairs of Anise Taranil, as he considered her plans for secession to be bad for business. He also questioned Kel Stevaen's possession of a medallion of the Unknown, and smirked when Caedali mentioned that they had received it from a contact in Reedenford. After the group removed the curse, Threecoats rewarded them by not killing them and giving them a discount on Garash the Dealmaker's wares. He later allowed the group one use of his door when they were hiding from the authorities in Bucktuck City, which they used to escape to Reedenford.
