A unique weapon that once belonged to the Immortal Prince Daeran before his death at the hands of an agent of the Thousand King, Agley Vensletta, “The Breaker”
Dustmaker is a magic +1 maul that requires attunement to use. It is considered a greatweapon. The maul was once wielded by royal blood, but was lost after the death of its master.
Description
A weighty steel maul fashioned into the shape of a bear’s head. The haft of the hammer is a coiled, treated wood that bends easily but does not snap.
Effects
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. It has three charges.
When an attack is made with this weapon, you can use one charge to crumble all contiguous stone and dirt in a 10 foot cube from the point of impact to dust. If your target is a mobile creature, they must make a Dexterity save against a DC of 8 + your Strength Modifier + your Proficiency modifier, or become subject to the Dustmaker’s effects. The charge is consumed regardless of whether the attack connects or not. Dustmaker regains 1 charge each day at dawn.
History
Dustmaker was once wielded by Prince Daeran, royalty of the Kalhastian Empire and a general of its armies. Prince Daeran was though to be immortal due to his prowess in battle, though he finally met his end in the wars of the 400s at the hands of Unknown, the Breaker. Dustmaker was lost after his defeat.
The hammer passed through many hands for centuries, circulating through black markets as well as noble and royal circles. It has a particular reputation among collectors for the brutal deaths its wielders eventually face, leading some to believe that it was cursed by the Thousand King in some way, though expert divination has thus far revealed nothing of the sort.
Dustmaker eventually landed in the hands of Garash the Dealmaker, who sold it to Lambchop in the Unknown.
