Hassant was once a proud an prosperous kingdom in north-east Gessaria. It was the first major kingdoms established after Gessaria's creation.
During the Age of Gods, Hassant was highly favored. The citizens were kind and generous, and creates many idols, shrines, temples, and relics for even the most minor demigods. As a result, the people became rich in boons from the gods, and magic flowed freely throughout the city.
While often seen as a city of gods, the center of Hassant came to be known as the City of Mirrors. The craftsmen of Hassant would use magic to create the most magnificent, perfect mirrors, and these mirrors would adorn the buildings and spires of Hassant. The guidance of the gods made it so that no person would ever lose themselves in the maze of mirrors, so that all could simply admire its beauty.
However, this angered Elevarani, a goddess of the Shallow Moon. She hated gazing upon the mirrors, seeing herself looking back at her, reflecting her glow. She viewed herself as the mirror of the Sun, and hated that mortals would dare to emulate her beauty. But every night, she was forced to pass this city of mirrors, slowly and her hate boiled into rage.
When Elevarani finally had enough, she flew towards the center of Hassant in a magnificent fury, and completely annihilated the entire kingdom. The fragments of Hassant now eventually became known as the Isles of Wrath, a place of madness shaped by the magical fallout of Elevarani's chaotic magic.
How peculiar that such a tragedy is so easily forgotten. Cruel, are the gods of time. - Ulian Bowband
