Azmok is the wizard who owns the tower in Kinoclast. He is actually a giant floating skull.
Description
Azmok it basically a giant skull, somewhat worn away in places. His skull itself is around 3 or 4 feet tall, and he often hovers a few feet above the ground, putting him at eye level with most taller creatures.
Azmok is somewhat childish, filling his tower with games, among the many deadly traps he also places. He is somewhat aloof to the problems of the world, and seems to hold himself above most people.
Skills and Abilities
Azmok is apparently quite a capable wizard, as he created most of the population of Kinoclast, and set a number of magical traps in his lair. However, he was caught off guard by Layton Mocksong, and was imprisoned in a cage of his own design, unable to use his power.
History
Azmok appears to be terribly old. According to the residents of Kinoclast, he was been researching methods on creating life for some time.
At some point, in an effort to care for his creations, he "founded" Kinoclast, creating some modest housing and infrastructure for the individuals there, as well as some magical wards to protect them. The functions of these wards would eventually become corrupted by some magical force coming from the Nightspell Marches.
When Layton Mocksong came to investigate the magical disturbances in the area originating from the Nightspell Marches, due to Azmok's unwillingness to work with him, Layton imprisoned him in a magical cage in the basement of the tower.
Azmok encountered the Peas in the basement, coaxing them forwards through some of his traps. The party left him with a promise to return and rescue him. They eventually returned, with half of them terribly drunk. At a loss on how to remove Azmok from the prison that disintegrated anything that touched it, they eventually lit him on fire, restoring his magical ability. Azmok immediately fled to the top of the tower, and the group followed; they attempted to communicate the dangers of the magic from the swamp, and asked him to keep his wards in check. Azmok simply brushed them off, focused entirely on his research. While he did promise to do something about the wards, he did so in passing.
Azmok turned the traps of his tower back on when the group was halfway down it.
